Carlos is a former Power Ranger.  When the Spice Club made their decision to leave Earth to fight Black Shadow, Carlos went with them in order to be with his wife and daughters.  Carlos relies solely on physical combat and his lance.  Since Carlos has no special powers within himself, he is the most vulnerable member of the group.  In the F-Zero X Grand Prix, Carlos drives the King Meteor, which looks strikingly similar to Ruth's Queen Meteor.
