PLANET: Earth Azrael is undoubtedly the strongest general the Spices will face. And the worst part is, he's in charge of the Spices' home planet, Earth. His specialty is twisting the facts, making the good guys appear bad and vice versa. He claims that he destroyed the human race only because it was the will of God. The Spices, however, believe that he's just a twisted monster who must pay for the carnage. The odd thing is, Azrael doesn't serve Black Shadow directly as the others do. In fact, Black Shadow has his own bone to pick. Among the zillions killed by Azrael was Astronema, the woman whom Black Shadow intended to marry. She was also Jenny's mother. Black Shadow labeled Azrael as Earth's general, so that the Spices would destroy him. At the same time, Azrael killed Black Shadow's opposition as well, so Az was named the general for his help in the universal conquest. And just for the sport of it, the Spices decided to invite Azrael to compete in the F-Zero X Grand Prix. The Green Panther was the only vehicle left for him. And wouldn't you know it?
