Mighty Gazelle was a racer in the F-Zero races.  However, he got into a terrible accident, and the only way to save him was to upgrade him into a cyborg.  As a Spice Club member, he hangs out with fellow cyborg Fulgore.  Together, they handle the technological problems at the ship.

Perhaps Gazelle's most noted achievement was reviving Arbin as a cyborg after he was killed by Black Shadow.  In the F-Zero X races, he drives the Red Gazelle.
